About
Welcome! My name is Dr. Suman Lodh, Associate Professor in Finance at Kingston Business School, Kingston University London. My work is driven by a deep commitment to exploring the vital intersection of corporate finance, financial reporting, and sustainability. Over the years, my research has spanned crucial global issues — from corporate accountability toward climate change and biodiversity to digital currencies, AI and SME finance. I have been fortunate enough to have my work published in leading international journals and featured by the BBC Asian Network and the UK Parliament. Beyond research, I am proud to have served as the Treasurer and an Executive Trustee for the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) from 2021 to 2026, helping shape our academic community during those years.
In the classroom, my ultimate goal is to engage, inspire, and demystify the complex financial and economic and financial issues shaping our real world. I am deeply passionate about teaching Econometrics and its applications at the postgraduate and PhD levels, alongside courses in Corporate Finance and Financial Statement Analysis. For me, research and teaching are completely intertwined; my projects, funded by organisations like the UKRI, focus heavily on green economic recovery and improving access to finance for local, early-stage businesses. I bring these fast-evolving, real-world challenges straight to my students, ensuring we are always looking toward a more sustainable and equitable financial future. Beyond the lecture hall and journal pages, I am passionate about wildlife conservation, community education through the Verve initiative, and using storytelling to communicate complex ideas to broad audiences.
